Salary after tax in Spain by city (2026)

Rules for 2026, checked 15 October 2026 · single, no children · an estimate, not tax advice

Spain's income tax (IRPF) has a state part and a regional part, and each autonomous community sets its own regional rates. Social security contributions are the same everywhere, so the differences between cities come from income tax alone.

At €60,000 a year, you keep €1,060 more a year in Madrid than in Barcelona.

The Beckham Law is a special regime for people who move to Spain for work; its income tax doesn't depend on the region.
